January is looking to be a busy month for third grade! In ELA, the students will begin learning about nonfiction texts through the Louisiana Purchase unit. They will also work on writing to inform this month. For Math, we will begin our big fractions unit! In Science, our ecosystems and adaptation unit will continue, and for social studies, we are moving into the Louisiana Purchase since we just wrapped up our important Louisiana explorers unit.
This month the students will be taking the second diagnostic iReady test in Math and ELA. We are really excited to see their growth!
Please check the school calendar for some important dates this month. Second nine weeks report cards are coming home, and there’s also an early release day and a holiday on the calendar for this month. We hope everyone has a wonderful month full of learning!
