It’s very hard to believe May is here, and school is nearing the end! Our wonderful 3rd graders will be busy the first week of May (April 30 – May 4) taking the LEAP test. The students will take one ELA session and one Math session on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. The Social Studies part of the LEAP test will be taken on Thursday, and Science will be taken on Friday. It is imperative that your child comes to school on time and is well rested. A healthy breakfast is a wonderful start for their day, as well as a pleasant morning at home with positive and encouraging words as they leave for school! We know our third graders are well prepared!
After the LEAP test, your child will be reading the exciting novels “BFG” or “Fourth Grade Rats” in ELA class. We are sure to have some fun and engaging lessons with these novels. In Math we will work on the “Step-Up to 4th Grade” Unit. In this unit we will work on two digit by one digit multiplication and division. Students will also take their end of the year benchmark tests in Science and Social Studies, as well as their end of the year iReady Diagnostic test in ELA and Math on the computer. We will be very busy!
Since this is our last newsletter, we want to thank you for a wonderful and successful year! The students have grown so much, and we couldn’t be more proud of them. They’ve worked so hard! Thank you, parents, for your support and encouragement! We hope everyone has a safe, relaxing, and fantastic summer! We hope to see all these little faces back in August!
