The Kindergarten classes have been very busy during the past few weeks!
In our math lessons this month, the students have learned to compare length, height, weight, and capacity of objects in the classroom. In January, we will begin to compare numbers and then moving on to addition and subtraction fluency.
In our Core Knowledge lessons, the students have been learning to read and spell chains of CCVC, CVCC and CCVCC words in which one sound is added, substituted, or omitted. We’ve really enjoyed showing off our reading skills with our new decodable readers!
In our Comprehension lessons (ELA Guidebook), the students have been studying informational (nonfiction) text. When we return in January, we will start to read about seasons and weather.
Last of all, the kindergarten teachers would like to wish each and every one of you a very happy holiday season! We look forward to making 2018 a great year of learning with your child.
